Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born on March 4, 1954. She is a comedian from Canada actor, writer, and actress. O'Hara has been awarded numerous distinctions which include a Genie Award and a Golden Globe Award. O'Hara also won two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Canadian Screen Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2018, O'Hara was elected to the rank of an Officer of Canada. She was also awarded the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara first made her appearance as an actress in 1974 when she was in The Second City, an comedy troupe that improvised in Toronto. Dan Aykroyd and John Candy were also part of her main cast on the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd began work on Second City Television's sketch comedy program (1976-1984). O'Hara received high praise for her comedy writing and acting skills and was awarded an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for a Variety Series in 1982. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the new Second City artistic advisory board headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura, Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
